The Bending of Spoons

I practice a similar process of energy movement and intention in my own healing.

And so it is, out of willing,
I am able
to influence
all forms of matter,
in stillness or movement,
with a thought
or a song.
My innermost experience
as a spirit form
unfolds me
as a human-being,
an artist-in-residence,
to create from love
toward love again.
Impressions of you,
in my memory and the stone,
will forever be found
in small vibrations
'moving mountains.'

After spoon bending I stood to greet the morning light

"Sex, Power, and Transformation," was a year's end conference workshop held in 1998 by Dr. Brugh Joy at Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. I was ready to change myself and wanted to do the work necessary to accomplish this. It was at this workshop I met Dagma and a team of powerful, spiritually based men some of whom would, years later, become members of the men's group I formed for self-realization and empowerment called 'Pegasus.'

"In 1974, Dr. W. Brugh Joy was a distinguished and respected member of the Los Angeles medical community. In that year he contracted a life-threatening disease that culminated in an illuminating meditation, which caused him to give up his medical practice abruptly. Six weeks later he discovered that his illness was totally cured. This experience pushed him to further his explorations into realms of healing involving body energies, the chakra system, meditation, and higher levels of consciousness."

The stone I took from Dagma's hand and placed on a
wooden railing along the shore at Asilomar

At this conference I experienced the process of individual and group transformation that re-forms the concepts of the nature of reality. This experience, shared with Dagma, expanded my vision of our own unrealized potential to be conscious beings alert to multiple realities, and introduced me to the seemingly miraculous abilities associated with energy fields radiating from the human body, how to move matter and heal maladies and how to transfer this energy to another person.

It was during this conference, on a walk along the ocean shore with Dagma, that I placed a stone on a wooden railing and began to explore the possibilities of moving matter through intention. The stone was still hot from being nested in her hand after she found it lost awash on the water's edge, surrounded by kelp and sea-bubbles.

In the years that passed, I occasionally held the stone in my palm reverently, like taking a warm egg from under a chicken in the coop, the stone warmed me again from the memory. I would again consider the illusion of solidness in the stone: the binding molecules, atoms and the space between them, and I would wonder... Is it possible, through the energy of my intention and the available space within the stone, to influence movement or invest memory into the stone...to become part of the stone, the way I become part of a flower, or Dagma, when we touch?

My first experience at bending spoons

It was during this time I first experienced the ability to bend a metal spoon with the focused energy of intention. I was able to do gather the energy of a sunrise before me, or the universal energy surrounding me and focus this energy into my heart chakra. From there I would transfer this energy to my hands and the spoon I held. In an instant the metal spoon would heat—become fluid-soft enough for me to twist it into a knot, and then it would again find itself solid. Everyone contains the ability to do the same through their own process of energy movement.
